The Happy Water humidifier stands out due to its unique design elements. The product's switch is a floating magnetic ball, creating a clear visual and tactile difference from other humidifiers. This design choice is not just about efficiency but also about consciousness. When the user holds the magnetic ball to turn on the humidifier, it serves as a reminder to live in the present moment, enhancing the user's experience through tactile and visual effects.
The design of Happy Water is a testament to the fusion of traditional Chinese culture and modern technology. The humidifier's form is inspired by the Chinese poem, "The bright moon is born on the sea, and the horizon is at this time." The designers extracted water and moon as the modeling elements of the humidifier, both of which hold significant positions in traditional Chinese culture. The integration of these elements with magnetic levitation technology demonstrates the seamless blend of tradition and innovation.
The humidifier is realized through magnetic levitation technology, ultrasonic water atomization, micro water pump motor work, and ultraviolet light disinfection. The technical specifications of the design include a humidifier diameter of 300 mm, a height of 165 mm, and a permanent magnet ball diameter of 22 mm. The humidifier can hold 4 liters of water and can atomize 350 milliliters of water per hour. After one filling, it can humidify for ten hours continuously to increase the air humidity. The built-in ultraviolet lamp can eliminate 99 percent of bacteria.
The design process was not without its challenges. The team had to figure out how to accurately place the magnetic levitation ball in the middle of the humidifier and integrate the magnetic levitation device with the humidifier to make the appearance more concise and clear. However, the team overcame these challenges and successfully launched the project in Shenyang, Liaoning, China in June 2020, completing it in January 2021.
Happy Water is more than just a humidifier. It is an artistic interior furnishing that incorporates traditional Chinese culture, allowing users to enter a state of mindfulness while using it. This unique design has earned Guangpeng Yue and his team the Silver A' Home Appliances Design Award in 2021, a prestigious accolade awarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
